When walking through the challenges of life, often times people look to the support of friends and families to get them through it. That support can be even stronger in the Black community when people pull together.

Although emotional and mental support through tough times is good, financial support can go a long way to help businesses and potential customers. We hear it all the time that as a community we should support Black-owned business any chance we get because it not only benefits them but it benefits the community around them.

Half the battle is being able to find them to even support them. One couple looked to change that by making Allonsy, Let’s Go website and app. It’s an app that connects consumers with Black-owned businesses across the United States.

Through this app, founders Jamal and Tanisha Johnson encourage “economic independence and freedom from relying on others” and instead to rely on the talent of the Black community.

“I stand strong on what I believe in. Unity in our community. No one can change the way I feel,” explained Tanisha in an interview with Black News. “I want my app to be the Google Map of Black-owned business.”

The app provides a growing guide of restaurants, stores, attorneys, churches, doctors, banks and other Black-owned businesses.

Jamal and Tanisha Johnson are a powerhouse team. Tanisha focuses her attention on the business side while Jamal uses is design skills to keep the website and app going.

This free app is available for both Apple and Android phones which makes sharing the love even better. For more information about their app visit their website at allonsyletsgo.com
